Benefits of using delivery ramps
A delivery truck driver would not know where they are going to be sent on an errand. It might be some area that does not see many deliveries, and therefore has never seen the need to have a loading/off loading dock. For a truck driver whose vehicle is fitted with a foldable delivery ramp there is increased efficiency and a lot of time is saved. Loading or off-loading heavy packages is easy and can reduce the size of manpower needed to complete a given task in time with ramps. It is safe for goods under transfer because of decreased handling and the reduced risk of a package slipping and crashing to the floor when the driver is jumping on and off the truck.
Delivery ramps are cheap and they are not power operated. Therefore when the driver is off loading, they just need to switch off the engine as they complete their delivery. This is not the same case with lift gate trucks that are more expensive to install and require frequent servicing. They are also prone to damage unlike the manually operated folding counterparts. The same can be used during the transfer of goods from one truck to another or even to the smaller pick-up trucks. A delivery ramp can also be used to transfer heavier packages on to forklifts for storage in warehouses.
